Death of the Fish to be screened at IFFA

TEHRAN, Oct. 10 (MNA) – The Iranian film Death of the Fish directed by Rouhollah Hejazi will have a premier at the fifth Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA).

The film Death of the Fish will be screened at the 2015 IFFA to mark Rouhollah Hejazi’s second presence at this festival after his NETPAK award winning film, the Wedlock.

Hejazi is scheduled to watch the film together with the audience as well as to hold a workshop on filmmaking at the University of Brisbane, Australia.

The Death of the Fish will be screened in Iran due next month and IFFA will be its third festival attendance after Fajr and Montreal film festivals.

The cast include Niki Karimi, Ali Mosaffa, Tannaz Tabatabei, Rima Raminfar, Banak Karimi, Behrang Alavi, Hesam Mahmoudi, Morvarid Kashian, Pantea Bahram and Babak Hamidian among the others.

The film tells the story of mother’s death after which her children come together to carry out a strange request in her will: keep her body locked away at home for three days and not to spread word of her death to the immediate family.

The fifth Iranian Film Festival Australia has started October 9 and will continue to November 2 in five Australian cities Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne.
